Hey! Stella here...

SING THE SONGS THAT SHAPED AN ERA

Guided by a Grammy-longlisted jazz singer, learn the

art of interpreting The Great American

Songbook with grace, style and authenticity.

Step into the golden glow of mid-century cool—an era where cocktail lounges hummed with melody, Mad Men toasted to Sinatra, and The Rat Pack ruled the night. The Great American Songbook was more than music; it was the soundtrack of sophistication. From the smoky clubs of Manhattan to the silver screens of Hollywood, these songs defined style, romance, and timeless elegance. At Sing Jazz Standards, we guide you in interpreting these iconic tunes with authenticity, grace, and flair—so you don’t just sing the music… you inhabit the era.

Have you always wanted to sing the songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and the other icons who drew from The Great American Songbook?

Then I have a gift for you.

MY NAME IS STELLA BASS...

...and I’m a Grammy-longlisted jazz singer, songwriter, recording artist and music producer, with two jazz albums to my name, a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance, and 20 years as a professional singer and interpreter of The Great American Songbook.

I'm also the creator of Sing Jazz Standards, and you can read more about me here: www.stellabass.com.

If the words “jazz standards” make you think of smoky clubs, velvet gowns, and songs that really mean something - you’re not alone. That timeless, cinematic allure is what draws so many singers to this music. But knowing how to actually sing it - with style, substance, and authenticity - can feel like stepping into another world, and bring a whole lot of overwhelm. That’s exactly why I created this course.

Whether you’re a professional singer from another genre, an aspiring jazz vocalist, or someone who simply feels drawn to the elegance of The Great American Songbook, this course offers a clear, practical path into the world of jazz vocals, and a place where you can let go of the overwhelm!

Who This Course and 1:1s Are For

Professional singers from other genres, e.g. classical, musical theatre, pop, wanting to learn how to sing jazz with authenticity

Aspiring jazz vocalists: you’re not gigging (yet), but you’re serious about developing the tools to sing standards confidently

Singers who feel intimidated by the word "jazz". Here, we break it down into simple, clear steps that demystify the genre.

✅ Singers who want real-world guidance: you want to learn from someone who performs this music onstage professionally

✅ Singers who want to connect, not just copy - learning to interpret, communicate, and own these timeless songs

✅ Those who want structured, practical guidance to singing The Great American Songbook with style and substance.

Who This Course and 1:1s

Are Not For

(and that’s ok - we all start somewhere)

❌ Total beginner singers - if you’re still learning basic vocal technique, pitch, or breathing, this course may be too advanced. It's designed for singers who already have some vocal experience.

❌ Singers looking for academic jazz theory deep-dives - while we touch on musical concepts, this isn’t a 'heavy' jazz theory course. It’s grounded in performance, feel, using jazz essentials.

❌ Those expecting instant results without putting in the work . We simplify the process, but singing standards still takes practice, curiosity and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone

❌ People looking for a suite of cookie-cutter vocal exercises - this is about interpretation, nuance, and style—developing your voice in the context of real songs, not just scales and drills.
